That is the statement that is being sold hardly in London, with posters and other advertising materials being plastered everywhere. Why the campaign to try to eradicate the knowledge of the existence of a God?
The entire message of the campaign reads,
“There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life”
But who is worrying? People with God in their lives need not worry, for it is God’s word to believers not to worry because who can add another day in their lives by worrying. But Jesus promised that we cast our cares on Him. And whoever believes in Him shall be able to enjoy life because Jesus came that we may have life and have it to the full. (John 10:10).
I am not imposing my beliefs here. I believe in God, in Jesus His Son, and the resurrection. I believe that the bible is God’s word. I am not denying these. In fact, I would like the whole world to know. I also don’t judge unbelievers. It is not my job. God is the righteous Judge.
But what I can’t understand is the effort to try to convince people that blatantly that there is no God. Is that a desperation attempt?
What do you think?

gosh… grabe ba!
but as for me, I would rather live as though there is a God and find out there isn’t… That live as though there isn’t and find out there is! eversince I got to know the Lord, I learned the true meaning of JOY and NOT WORRYING… those who campaign should convince themselves to stop worrying and BELIEVE THERE’S GOD!
) hihi
that’s right. i think ha, practicality wise, it is more prudent to believe in God and find out that He doesn’t exist than not to believe in Him and find out too late that everything in the bible is true.
but of course, we know that ours is no longer practicality but love for the Lord.
albeit imperfect.
What a campaign! GRRR! I’m in rage! What the hell are these people thinking? Are they thinking that they are SUPERMAN?? or even worse, they are GOD?
I really really PITY these people. They don’t know what life is and what they’re purpose in life is. If they just enjoy life for the sake of “enjoyment for themselves”, I can say that they are so selfish, self-centered and insensitive.
One purpose we have in life that God wants us to do is to touch other people’s life, even in small ways. That way, we can be called true HUMAN BEINGS. ^_^

honestly, more than enraged, i am sympathetic. they don’t know the truth. they are blinded. and regret could not be advanced.

thank you for your comment willy. i left a comment on your blog, too.
This Question Has Been Answered Several YEARS AGO By GREAT PHILOSOPHERS… Stupid People Doesn’t Read History Nor Philosophy!!!
http://crispypapaya.blogspot.com/2008/09/my-philosophy-reflection-on-thomas.html
Thomas Aquinas’s 5 Proofs of God’s Existence!!!
All I Can Say, They Are Uneducated People!!!!
hi thesabel!
well sometimes the educated find it really hard to understand. it seems that the more intelligent one gets, the more difficult it is to get the concept of God. maybe it is because they are all mind and no heart? i hope not.
Curiously, I wonder why atheists feel the need to evangelize their nothingness. I guess it is misery looking for company.
Haha, they better study philosophy first before shouting out their questions that has already been answered hundreds of years ago! hahaha
I found this one! its very easy to understand:
According to many, God’s existence can be proven. There are various philosophical arguments; I’ll briefly outline a couple:
St Anselms ontological argument states the following:
Let’s assume that God is the being than which none greater can be conceived.
Since I understand this definition, I can understand the concept of God.
God exists in my mind.
Since existing in reality is GREATER than existing only in the mind, God MUST exist in reality as well as the mind.
Now of course there are flaws in this argument, but I see it as one of the stronger arguments.
Second;
St. Thomas Aquinas’ cosmological proof:
This is based on the concept of causality: He said that through the chain of cause and effect, movement in the universe can ultimately be traced back to God, the First Mover (All movement must have a source; God is that first source, or cause).
Again, there are various objections to this argument, including questioning the notion of causality itself. However, hopefully this will provide you with some peace of mind. If you want further argumentation look up the Teleological proof, often regarded as the strongest of the three.
No.
This depends on the criteria one uses. If it is decided before the discussion even starts, that God cannot or does not exist then the issue has been pre-determined. What is interesting in all this is that people are willing to accept all kinds of other things which also have no proof, but not God.
_____________
Proof of God’s existence might cause quite a stir, but it would cause at least one difficult problem. Faith would be rendered meaningless, and according to many people of faith, faith itself is the essential gift from God by which people are saved. There are difficulties on many levels; many philosophers of science argue credibly that no scientific theory can actually be proven, even with the abundance of evidence that supports many of them. It is no wonder that a concept for which no evidence exists should be considered difficult to prove.

@Will J: hahaha they probably are the Followers of Jean-Paul Sartre the Atheistic Existentialist…
Sartre read the bible in its original text which is in Latin but still he didn’t believe in God because He could not logically prove it.
but years later Thomas Aquinas an theistic existentialist proved it in 5 ways in which 1 proof is already enough.
Going back to this Atheists, According to Sartre, if man chooses to be atheist he will end up FORLORN, IN ANGUISH and IN DESPAIR!!!
hahahha people should read and study first
oh well, philosophically and otherwise, God does exist. it is just a shame that people insist otherwise.
thank you will and thesabel for such a lively and lovely discussion. i hope there are atheists who respond here so that we can know their point of view.
I once read this quote in a messageboard I joined a long time ago and it has stuck with me ever since. It said something like “I’d rather believe in God now and then die and find out there isn’t than not believe in God now and find out He’s real.” … =D
This is just absurd..
But I don’t judge people of what they want or do not want to believe.. If not believing in God is a way to make them feel less guilty of what they’re doing then that’s their call. As people we can only do so much..
But giving messages like these where young ones can read and somehow shape them into non-believers are just not right. Let everyone have their own freedom to choose. Either to believe or not. Not imposing such a campaign!
People have now deviate further from the truth and the teachings of our prophets or practices of our forefathers and for what? What can they receive from all that? Just a minute of fun? I’d rather not
Just as long as people of faith still keep faith and not falter, then one day we will see who’s winning and who’s on the losing end!
hi vienne!
that is sooo right.
@ lizzie: yup, absurd alright. as Christian parents, we should really protect our kids by teaching them.
and yeah, it is people’s choice. God did not impose Himself on us. then it is up to them who or what to believe…or what not to believe.
hi posh_post.. added you to my blog links.. have a nice day.. =D
here
Woo this statement is sensitive. Well some people chose to believe in god while some are not, up to them. Maybe the advertiser only want the people to face the reality?
WHAAATTT?????? its better to stay believe that there is GOD who create everything that we have seen…also those things that are not seen…and its more peaceful to live if u have GOD in your heart… you want the truth…acces me http://www.esoriano.wordpress.com
its stupid… they dont know what is the truth…and if they really believe that the bible is a word of GOD…i think they need to search what is the truth… http://www.esoriano.wordpress.com
well, we cannot really judge them. but i do pity them too. because at least we know we are going.
you know, i just find it easier to believe in God than to deny His existence.
I suppose it works both ways…we can’t deny that there are people who believe in God and push their faith down other people’s throats. Being enraged and ranting at the people who say “there probably is no God” won’t do any good, I think. Better to let them be and pray that they come around. I’ve long come to the realization that if a person is hell bent on believing OR disbelieving something, there is not much you can do to change his mind until he has an epiphany himself. Just my 2 cents…and yes, I believe in God.
PS – thought provoking post, Posh. Mind if I post something along the same lines?
I just can’t seem to understand the relevance of the add. Why do we have to worry if there is a GOD?. Infact we can injoy life to the fullest if there is a GOD because we know that someone cares for us no matter what.
obviously, this is the work of the enemy. he deceives people to do the work for him – spreading LIES. that’s all there is to this – A LIE. and that’s all the enemy can do – DECEIVE. God has already won the battle. the enemy cannot lay a finger on us unless we allow him to. he will do his work the best he can – that is to spread lies and deceit. He will never have a foothold on us unless we allow him entry.
over the years skeptics have proven the existence of God. why twist the facts again?
if there’s no God, my goodness! imagine, you live for NO PURPOSE, NO REASON at all. such a pity. such a waste of time.
yeah dreamwalker, you can.
that is soo right pia. i think it is a desperation attempt of the enemy. maybe in these dire times, people are indeed turning to God, that is why the enemy is using all means to convince people.
there is probably no God..yeah, right. like probably there is no brain, because we can’t see it, feel it, or touch it.
Worries, anxieties, hatred, anger are all in one’s mind regardless of whether one believes in God, or is an atheist.
We can control our mind. We can stop ourselves from worrying if we want to, but the trouble is, we let our mind control us.
We can opt to smile even in the worst situation. It doesn’t make us senile or insane. It merely shows that we understand that life has its challenges and its ups and downs.
So the phrase “There is probably no God” is irrelevant. If one believes in Him, good. If one doesn’t, he/she shouldn’t be condemned for being a non-believer. He/she shouldn’t be worried; neither should any of us.
After all, we are all HUMANS with different traits and beliefs, and we need to respect the differences.
Well said, Kev. You do have a point there.
