Friends and Friendships

I have a relative by consanguinity who is in the spa business. I really like their spa. It is new and modern and very luxurious. By far, it is the best looking and serving spa in the city.

I have already referred many friends to them and my friends are very satisfied with the services rendered. And now, thankfully and finally, they have their own website. It is a corporate website but they also have an account on Facebook. I think that aside from their Facebook account and their fan page, I think that it would also be nice for them to advertise their website through social media. I think that they will get more visitors from there and eventually more clients. I just wonder though if it will be worth it because it is a local business and since FB is an international site with international rates, I wonder if we will not be wasting money on it?

Actually, there would be people who can help us in making this decision, such as those involved in a Social Media Agency. These people can dish out expert advice on the matter of advertising or marketing on social media. But then again that would entail a fee and I am not sure how I can convince my superiors to go this way. They are still bent on traditional advertising and so far it works for them.

Facebook Trends

Facebook has so many applications already. It has definitely overtaken other social networking sites by several millenia. Like games, tagging many people, poking, games, etc.

And it seems that whatever Facebook people would start, it becomes the trend. Just take for example this game.

“We are playing a game…… silly, but fun! write the colour of your bra as your status, just the colour, nothing else!! Copy this and pass it on to all girls/Females on your chat …… NO MEN!! This will be fun to see how it spreads, and we are leaving the men wondering why all females just have a colour as their status!! Let’s have fun!! And – as you do this – keep all the women who have breast cancer in your prayers.”

But oh please, I don’t have time for this. I seldom open my Facebook account and whenever I do, it is to update my status or upload pictures. Then sometimes I get to check my friends’ profiles.

Anyway, many people are enjoying these applications that is why Facebook works. That is their secret. And most of all, the applications, especially the games, are free.

Just a reminder though, FB is already taking the time of so many people. And we all know what that means. Or do we?

New Feature of Facebook

I have since shifted to using Facebook after Friendster because most of my friends like it, especially my sister in law. So my husband and I became frequent users of Facebook. When I say, frequent, like many times in a day–if we are able. My friends said that they prefer Facebook because it has more functions than Friendster. For me, I like the fact that I can upload photos from their raw form and not be bothered by setting the size to become smaller. That saves me a lot of time.

Today, I have uploaded new photos of my daughter Dindin and I noticed a new feature or function in Facebook. They made it easier to add captions to photos! Actually, in the past, we can always add captions to our photos. After uploading the photos, we are redirected to a page where we can add and save our captions. And if we forget something, we just go to photos then edit photos.

But this time, they made it easier by putting the Add Caption link just below the photo itself so that when you happen to pass by your picture and think of something to add, you don’t have to go to Photos and Edit Photos anymore. You can edit the caption right there and then. Neat, huh?

Anyway, Facebook continues to amaze us with newer features all the time, that is why many people appreciate it.
