I need a new pair of sunglasses!

I have trusty pair of Rayban sunglasses that have been with me for several years now. However, recently, I have not worn it because when I do, my vision gets uncomfortable. I had my eyes checked for any discrepancies at Executive Optical at SM City Bacolod but the optometrist said that there is nothing wrong with my eyes.

So it is really probably the glare that has been haunting me. But wearing my old glasses seem to make my condition worse. So I think it is either that my sunglasses need some adjustments in angles or that I really need a new pair of glasses. I am thinking of those Diesel or Dickies sunglasses because they are very modern and fashionable and are not as expensive as Rayban, however, they come in polarized plastic and not glass. That means they are prone to scratches.

Oh well, I am really tight on the budget now so that will have to wait. Or maybe, I can have my sunglasses adjusted. It is so much cheaper to do that.

Wanting to Buy Sandals

Okay, I know it sounds pathetic but I could really use a new pair of sandals. I had been wearing a couple of footwear–a pair of Ipanema and another pair of imitation Happy Feet sandals–and would like high-heeled sandals for semi-formal occasions. (I had been wearing flipflops ever)

I found a nice pair of SM Parisian wedges that I like at SM City Bacolod. The soles and heels are black while the straps are in white. Very nice and neat. It only costs P500 or roughly $10. But I remembered that I have bills to pay and after my minor surgery two weeks ago, I really don’t have extra money to splurge. It is going to be my daughter’s birthday in 5 weeks and we have already touched the money for her party because of my accident. I may just have to contend with borrowing my sister in law’s sandals if ever. Unless of course, God will just grant me what I have been wanting, just like He had before.

Anyway, speaking of my accident, my doctor has graciously offered to help me claim some reimbursements from Philhealth and SSS, after all, I did use the operating room for my minor surgery. That would mean around $100 in reimbursements and that is a lot of money for us.

So my husband went to the Records Section yesterday. Unfortunately, they could not find my records. It seems that the people at the Labor Room where I was admitted failed to take my information, hence, my case was not recorded. It would have been nice, because I am not really that proud of my accident, but I needed those records for Philhealth.

My husband said that he is ever so thankful to the helpful staff at Doctor’s Hospital. He said they were very nice, and courteous and polite. They offered help in every aspect. Anyway, I had to call again today by phone to follow up but it was not done yet because the Labor Room staff have to prepare the admitting information. So I just have to call again tomorrow if it is ready for pick up. Nevertheless, the one who entertained me was also very helpful and resourceful. I just want to thank you guys for your good service.

Father’s Day at SM City Bacolod

I already live with my husband’s family and so the exact date of Father’s Day, my husband and baby went with our big family to have lunch.

But a few days later, it was our time to celebrate with my own father. They wanted so much to dine at Rai Rai Ken at SM City Bacolod because they love the food there. However, because of the big servings, it is not wise to eat there for only two persons. So they always ask us to go with them.

And that day was just the perfect occasion. We went to the mall around 11:30am. We dressed up Dindin warmly as it was raining at that time. The baby was very excited to come with us. But when we got to SM City Bacolod North Wing, she was already fast asleep. So we just put her on the stroller and we proceeded to have our lunch. We enjoyed the big servings of fried rice, misono, noodle soup (which Rai Rai Ken is famous for), and of course, sushi! My Nanay and Tatay were very satisfied with our meal! Thankfully, Dindin woke up while we were already finishing our lunch, so we were able to eat without having to take care of her. She woke up in time for the picture taking. As you can see below, she still wasn’t in the mood because she just woke up.\

After the meal, we went to Ace Hardware because my parents needed a change of water purifier at their home. They got a good bargain there, I think they saved P1,000 because the purifier was on sale. Eventually, I decided to get it for them as a gift.

While they were at Ace Hardware, Dindin was with them, as I had to go to the Smart Telecoms branch for the renewal of my subscription plan. They said Dindin enjoyed looking around at the wares at Ace, and she seemed to be getting used to the baby carrier that we just used that day. She was responding well to the fact that she was facing the world while she was being carried, so she enjoyed her tour so much.

On the side, my parents also passed by the customer service area as they had bills to pay. They find it very convenient to pay their bills there because of the short lines.

Below is another pic that we took in front of the SM Cinemas. Of course, we still can’t bring Dindin inside the theater for obvious reasons, so that will have to wait until she is two years old. For now, we just content ourselves with bringing her around the mall as she is very responsive to the things that she sees.

It was a very fun day for all of us. We had a good meal, got the things we need, and even got to do our errands at SM City Bacolod. Never mind that it was late when we celebrated Father’s Day—it is the thought that counts. After all, being a father knows no end.
