There has been so much hype that America is turning non-religious. Americans are reportedly campaigning to ban religion in school, in their money, and even just prayer in public gatherings.

These moves have generated much reactions from either side–bringing the pros and cons of the situation.

So for me, it is refreshing to see that a show like American Idol, known for both broken and fulfilled dreams and Simon’s biting remarks, allowed the singing of the praise song entitled, “Shout to the Lord.”

Whether or not the eight finalists who sang the song are Christians, I think it is a step forward for Christianity.
