Grand Finale of May Bukas Pa

I just finished watching the grand ending of May Bukas Pa. I knew it! Santino did not die! Or at least, he was resurrected. It would have been anti-climactic to show all those mourners and expect Santino to really die in the ending.

Well, he did die, for awhile, but he was brought back to life, cementing the fact that he is really the miracle boy of Bagong Pag-asa.

And I say that this is a grand ending because it is a star-studded episode. All the stars that had appearances in the show took part in the mourning for Santino’s passing. And choir! My goodness! There was Martin Nievera, Zsa Padilla, Charice Pempengco, Ariel Pineda, Sam Milby, Toni Gonzaga, Christian Bautista, Eric Santos, Vina Morales, Jed Madela, and others that I cannot remember. Toni Gonzaga was ravishing, if I may say.

Well, Zaijan Jaranilla, who plays Santino, is now on to the next project, a movie with Piolo Pascual. In the meantime, I suggest Zaijan should eat and sleep and just enjoy being a kid in between the shoots. C’mon guys, give the boy a break!

Lovers in Paris–Pinoy version

Whew! It has been 2 weeks since I have made my last post. I had been caught up in a whirlwind of projects that my mind was sore (if there ever is a condition). I opted to play computer games the last three days–just to empty my head–my NOTHING MODE.

Anyway, tonight is the start of Lovers In Paris–a Koreanovela shown on ABS-CBN, I think, a couple of years back. It was that time when we fell in love with the characters of Vivian, Carlo, and the ruggedly handsome Jerry. This time, ABS-CBN is doing a remake of the much loved show, but this time with Filipino actors and flavor. The 3 main characters are played by KC Concepcion, Piolo Pascual, and Zanjoe Marudo respectively.

I would just like to make a comment about the choice of KC as Vivian. Honestly, I don’t think KC can pull this off. I am not questioning her talent as an actress–it is just that it seems that Vivian’s character and KC’s persona do not really tick. It is kinda off. Was she cast just because she spent some years in Paris and Paris here in the Philippines (at least for the masses) is associated with KC?

In Piolo’s case, I think he is too young to be Carlo. I would have liked an older guy play the part. For now, Piolo does not look distinguished enough….for now. I emphasize that because he lacks the years. Period. For Zanjoe, well, he is okay for Jerry. Rugged, handsome, sexy (at least for many people’s perception, hehe sorry, I don’t share with the others).

Well, I have said my piece. Tonight, I guess I can spare some time to watch, at least the first episode and see if it is worth continuing to watch.
