I have always admired Loren Legarda, the former Mrs. Leviste. She is one tough woman, strong-willed and principled. She is a fighter.
Then the years came and went. Honestly, this may sound hitting below the belt, but I could no longer stomach Loren Legarda on TV. She now comes to me as a person without principle bur rather an ambitious politician. She may probably have good intentions for our country, but her methods are questionable. She looks really plastic in her TV commercial and of all the songs that she could us, her TV ad is accompanied by the song “Ang Bayan Ko”.
I get goosebumps hearing the song when sung with Legarda’s commercial. For me, Ang Bayan Ko is the song of patriots, not of politically ambitious individuals who think nothing of the country but personal gain. In this commercial, Legarda appears as really plastic or a hypocrite.
I am sorry about this really strong opinion, but I just feel that using the song is sacrilege if not meant from the heart. And I could not see and feel that in Ms. Legarda.
