Patrick Swayze, 57, the well-loved actor from “Ghost” and “Dirty Dancing”, succumbed to pancreatic cancer Monday. This has been a terrible year for Hollywood, as many celebrities passed away, Farah Fawcett, the son of John Travolta, David Carradine, and of course, the infamous Michael Jackson. There are others, but I already forgot them.
Anyway, Patrick had been very brave in his fight with cancer. He had been diagnosed last year, in January of 2008, and he outlived the prognosis that he was dying soon. He even filmed a new series entitled A & E. Swayze was very positive, maintaining an active lifestyle and a pro-active attitude. However, I guess the cancer was already too much for his body. Nevertheless, 18 months is already a bonus for the actor.
