The City of Lights

France has always fascinated me, especially the capital city, Paris, which is known as the City of Lights.

I have always wanted to go there that several years ago, I started researching on how much money it will cost me to go there. But it is just so expensive. I think that was already 8 years ago, and my estimate for a one-week trip would be around P200,000. That is because Paris is one of the most expensive, if not the most expensive, city in the world! And their currency has a much higher rate than our local money, which just plainly sucks.

Anyway, I researched about plain fare and where to stay and the place that I would like to live in is one of those french gites. They are so European and well, kinda Medieval. And I love medieval times! But even if these are not hotels, they are still very expensive!

But my fascination with Paris has not stopped. Last week, I bought a glow in the dark 3D puzzle of the Eiffel Tower so that my daughter’s consciousness will be opened to this grandiose work of architecture and that she will also set her sights into visiting Paris someday. Or maybe, she will be the one to bring us to Paris? hehe

Lovers in Paris–Pinoy version

Whew! It has been 2 weeks since I have made my last post. I had been caught up in a whirlwind of projects that my mind was sore (if there ever is a condition). I opted to play computer games the last three days–just to empty my head–my NOTHING MODE.

Anyway, tonight is the start of Lovers In Paris–a Koreanovela shown on ABS-CBN, I think, a couple of years back. It was that time when we fell in love with the characters of Vivian, Carlo, and the ruggedly handsome Jerry. This time, ABS-CBN is doing a remake of the much loved show, but this time with Filipino actors and flavor. The 3 main characters are played by KC Concepcion, Piolo Pascual, and Zanjoe Marudo respectively.

I would just like to make a comment about the choice of KC as Vivian. Honestly, I don’t think KC can pull this off. I am not questioning her talent as an actress–it is just that it seems that Vivian’s character and KC’s persona do not really tick. It is kinda off. Was she cast just because she spent some years in Paris and Paris here in the Philippines (at least for the masses) is associated with KC?

In Piolo’s case, I think he is too young to be Carlo. I would have liked an older guy play the part. For now, Piolo does not look distinguished enough….for now. I emphasize that because he lacks the years. Period. For Zanjoe, well, he is okay for Jerry. Rugged, handsome, sexy (at least for many people’s perception, hehe sorry, I don’t share with the others).

Well, I have said my piece. Tonight, I guess I can spare some time to watch, at least the first episode and see if it is worth continuing to watch.
