Storage is a Problem

Storage can truly be a problem for many people–including us! haha

I remember when I was in the United States for a vacation several years back, I was given the opportunity to visit several states, like northern and southern California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Through all those times I stayed in different houses almost every week. I cannot remember at all how many Filipino homes in America that I have conquered.

But one thing is surely common among them, their garages are full for stuff! haha And their cars are parked on the street out in front. haha It is not unlike a Filipino to gather stuff and store them. I, too, am guilty of that. We live in a one-bedroom space complete with a toilet and bath. But pretty much everything else is done outside. With the space that we have, we do have closets and they are full!

We aim to have a Self Storage, that is we don’t want to go over our boundaries and use my in-laws’ storage space. As much as possible, I would like to confine our stuff within the confines of our bedroom. hehe I think that is but fair. We live with my in-laws and I think that it is already very generous of them to have us. So I am not abusing that kindness.

Someday, when we have our own home, then we have more space for our stuff. But then again, that will also mean more stuff. haha It never ends. :-D

Family Access Card

With the rice crisis in the Philippines (or it is what the government wants the people to believe) the government has devised a way to distribute low quality and lower priced NFA rice to people who total family income is below P5,000 a month.

It is called the Family Access Card. This will ensure people will get their fair share of NFA rice and not hoard rice, because they say we have a shortage.

I just ask, what has the country gotten into? People now have to have these access cards just to buy rice? Where is the dignity of the Filipino in that?

I have asked some dealers and farmers, and they say there really is no shortage. Some people believe that the rice shortage was a hyped up problem to cover up the controversies that the presidential family is in.

How can they ever sleep at night?
