Checking Old Stuff

One of the things that I did here at my parents’ house is to check out my old stuff. I opened my old cabinet and just looked at the things that I might still need and those that I can already give away.

I guess I have given away so much already that there is not really much there, except some things that my mother had already put in there for temporary storage. But I did find a sling bag and some red Japanese paper that we might need in the near future so we took them home.

Anyway, I wanted to see my old photos and I learned that my mother moved them all in several plastic boxes that she bought at SM Home Store. It was nice because at least the photos are now protected from insects and dust.

It is nice here in our house in Tangub because there is so much space to store stuff. After all the house has a big floor area and there are many rooms. There are also many cabinets and boxes and my mother just keeps buying more.

There is also a lot of space here at my husband’s home, because there are three floors in the building. But they also have so much stuff. And well, our space is only one bedroom so much of our stuff are already on the living room. hehe We really don’t have storage for rent here like storage Newcastle so we pretty much just give away the things that we have not used for quite some time.

I guess someday, if we have our own house, then maybe we will have more storage space for our growing family. hehe

Looking for Furniture

In Bacolod City, there are many furniture shops. There are high end, specialized furniture shops, but there are also those low end stores that sell run off the mill stuff. I say run off the mill because they are just so common. And although they are cheap, they are not worth it because they don’t last long.

I really like the furniture pieces featured at Max Furniture. They look great, they are stylish, and they appear like they were artfully and skillfully done by talented artisans. I say “they appear” because I have not seen them in actuality but just online through their website. But their merchandise look really worth it.

For now, shopping for furniture pieces is not yet my concern. Maybe someday. How soon it will be is not for me to tell. Our future is in God’s hands. I can only trust Him that someday, if He blesses us with a house that we can call our own home, it will really be such a blessing–something that we will be really thankful for.

For now, we can only be thankful that we have a roof over our heads. God is so good.

Anyway, I will go back to my vacation mode. It has been so much fun! :-D

My Dream House

My Dream House is not actually a mansion. I want a single storey bungalow home with a terrace and a garden where we can plant some vegetables, have a decorative area, and a space for the children to play.

And I would like an area that is enough for one bedroom each for the kids (I would like two kids, so one for each one of them) with a shared bathroom, a master’s bedroom with a toilet and bath, a playroom which can double as a family room or a guestroom and a servant’s quarter. The lot will also have to accommodate even just a single-car garage for the family car.

That would already be very nice. In these present times however, having such a house would already entail like p2 million pesos or even more. And that money is something that we don’t have right now.

But as I am looking into homes, I have also come across topics like home security and HMS Home Warranty. I guess these are things that we really have to consider if we already own our home. For now, we will just save up where we can and ready ourselves whenever the opportunity for acquiring a new home arises. Right now, we are just enjoying a roof over our heads.
