I have always liked Talentadong Pinoy of TV5. Even when ABS-CBN released the seasonal Pilipinas Got Talent franchise, I still watched TP.
I appreciate the fact that they have leveled up. Now, they have two episodes per week and have four members on the judges’ panel. When they changed the show’s format, they also changed the Hall of Fame mechanics. One has to win ten (10) times in order to be called a Hall of Famer, as compared to the five wins in the past. But now, thankfully, they have changed the mechanics to 8 and they have given the trophy to the 9-time winner Joseph the Sand Artist. Very good. Gracious.
Anyway, I also like the fact that they are now scouring the provinces with regular auditions in search for new talents. There will be another one on July 29-30 here at SM City Bacolod. I am telling a friend of ours to audition, but I dunno if he will push through.
In another light, I am happy to see that talent shows are evolving. Singers used to perform solo before and those who can belt it out are the ones really appreciated. But nakakasawa na. Thankfully, we have talents like the Believers who are in theatrical signing and now we have the New Born Divas who are into Vegas style presentation. Very nice really.
