Anti-ageing Products

I can no longer deny the effect of the years on my skin. I can lines, wrinkles, and of course, the more obvious age spots. Even my pimple scars are looking more apparent.

So anyway, I decided that I needed to do something or at least put something on my face. Last year, I bought Olay Total Effects Moisturizer and Eye Cream. After several months, I still kept on complaining to my husband that it is not doing what it is supposed to do.

But this year, my skin’s condition worsened. I got myself an apricot scrub by St. Ives and then I used Olay again, and more religiously this time. At the very least, I use Olay once a day and I would scrub my face four times a week, as recommended on the label. Indeed, my face is more supple and the lines are not very obvious anymore. Well, the age spots are still there but my skin really looks younger.

So I guess, all I needed was some discipline.

I am tempted to change my moisturizer to the St. Ives Collagen Elastin Moisturizer because it also worked for me when I was in the US where the weather was cold. But I think I should stick to what is working now, after all, it was like 7 years since I last used St. Ives.

Other than these two products, I cleanse my face with papaya soap. That keeps the pimples off my face.

Diamond Peel

I have ugly, scarring skin with large pores. I don’t get pimples always but when they occur, they like stay there for several months or a year if not injected upon. So whenever I can, I would extract the comedone so that the pore would not be so clogged up and lead to a pimple.

But this extraction has caused the scars on my face that look like craters. I recently went to Salon U-ropa and asked for their Diamond Peel. They say that is my best solution to the craters on my face. But man, that is about 25$ per session. And it won’t clear up my face in just a single session. Hmmmmmm…maybe I should blog some more so that I can afford a Diamond Peel? lol

Here is what a Diamond Peel is:

This gentle yet effective microdermabrasion resurfacing treatment uses a diamond tip to help desquamate dead cell layers and age spots, eliminating signs of sun damage, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and making shallow scars disappear. This treat-ment takes about 20 minutes and can be done once a week.

Gee, I dunno if I can afford it once a week. And if I can, if I am willing to shell out that much money weekly. Or even monthly for that matter. Maybe when I am earning several hundreds of dollars a month…

Have you tried this?
