Considering the Costs of Health Insurance

The other day, my husband was contemplating getting a health insurance with him as the main beneficiary. He said that a guy he used to know is now representing Caritas and they got to talking about the coverage.

Anyway, he has been thinking about such because of the nice benefits, like those working in call centers who mostly have health coverage. But we know that with call centers, it is the company that is paying for the policy and not the employees. So that is a good thing.

In our case, it would just be us who will pay for the insurance premiums. We are just wondering though because I already have mine with Philam, but my husband is not covered. It is a small policy that is limited.

Though we are not really all enthusiastic about going to hospitals and looking at nurses uniforms, let’s face it that we would need medical services every now and then. And since medical fees can be pretty steep, it would also be good to have coverage like this.

Sometimes, it is one good thing if you are employed–health insurance is part of your benefit as long as you are connected with the company. For freelancers like us, we will have to pay for our own.

Getting Insured

In the past, I have really struggled with getting insurance policies. I thought it was lack of faith in my part. My insurance should be the Lord. Then one time, something struck me that getting insurance is exercising wisdom. Of course, I still prayed for it and got a reassurance that it was the right move. I guess, with everything, it is a matter of consulting what we do with the Lord because each of us has a different purpose and calling. Whereas one might be called to buy a house, another may be called to send a missionary abroad. So our money has different purposes.

Well now, I have a couple of insurance policies that include hospitalization. I got it when I was single. And also we got a couple of insurance policies that covers our baby. It is for her future education. Since we now have a car, we also have car insurance. And I think that our store’s vehicle has motor trade insurance. The motor insurance, I think, is required with the registration of the vehicle.

Anyway, there are times that we are hard up but we make sure to pay the dues of our policies, whether annual or semi-annual or quarterly because all the payments in the past will be rendered useless if we miss out on our payments.

I have already taken advantage of the benefits of my hospitalization insurance and I am happy that I did get it in the past.
