This is not actually the first time. But Hayden Kho, the now infamous cosmetic surgeon who lost his license after actress Katrina Halili ran after him in court due to their exposed trysts, thanks to the scandalous videos that circulated on the net, has committed suicide the second time around. Or at least attempted suicide.
No he is not yet dead. He is fully alive and again recovering in the hospital.
The first time that Hayden attempted to take his life was when Dr. Vicki Belo, his equally (if not more) famous ex-lover and boss, broke up with him early this year. It was reported then that Dr. Belo got wind of his escapades and with the broken trust came the break up. Because of the emotional detachment, Hayden tried to take his life again.
And this is the second time. The reason? Or at least the event that came before? That is the revoking of his medical license. Katrina Halili did not just want Hayden suspended. She wanted him stripped of his medical license.
Actually, for me, stripping him of his license is not the punishment. For me, the fact that his acts were exposed and he is suffering shame and humiliation, that already is enough. I believe that after the incident, not too many people would want to consult with him and dig his medical advice. That already is enough, as a doctor has sworn to serve. And if people do not want to be served by him, his medical license serves no purpose. So, what then is the difference? The difference is, Hayden could still teach in med school if he still has his license. Or he may practice eventually, after all the hoopla has died down, say 5 years. But with the revoking of his license, his career as a medical doctor has ended. And that is because of voyeurism.
In another light, I never really thought that Hayden would try this once again. After all, he has opened a new business, a bar, and with that, has given out free business cards. His business is a happening joint and they even have plans for expansion. At least, he has something to get busy on.
So why this event again? Honestly, I don’t know. We don’t know the emotional and psychological and mental turmoil that he is in. And today, the spotlight continues to be on him.
