At my parents’ home, we noticed that our roof is painted a new color. It now has a shiny royal blue top. That is way too different from the tamed green roof that we have had for decades. My folks are getting a lot of ideas now that the nest is empty. Good thing my brother is supporting them.
Anyway, my mother related that they had the roof fixed lately because they are getting a lot of leaks whenever there is a heavy downpour. When it rains hard, they have to have containers ready around the house in order to catch the dripping rainwater. And Nanay really feels bad about this because the water is damaging our very nice ceiling. Now, the white ceiling has splotches of black, which are actually water stains. And because of the wetness, molds have grown, too. Yucky!
So my parents hired a hand and had the points where the GI sheets were nailed to the wooden frame applied with a roof sealant. Then they had the entire roof repainted. So far, we have not experienced heavy rains since they had the roof fixed. But I really hoped this time that every hole was covered. I hope that the guy they hired are like the guys at Austin Roofing who are very effective on their jobs.
My parents have spent a lot of money on the roof. I really hope that this time, the job is done well.
