ABS-CBN Primetime Drama: Nasaan Ka Elisa?

Nasaan Ka, Elisa?

Nasaan Ka, Elisa?

Nasaan ka, Elisa?“, which literally translates to “Where are you, Elisa?” is a suspense-drama being shown on ABS-CBN every night.

I am really curious about this story but I did not watch it. I want to wait for the ending. haha Yeah, I am like that. I watch these TV series when it is on its final week because I don’t like following the story every night just to feel bad when it is cut short. I like stories that end in one sitting–like in the movie.

The story of Nasaan ka Elisa revolves around a wealthy and happy family whose world is turned upside down because of the disappearance of their daughter, Elisa. It turned out that relatives have hidden desires and evil intentions. It’s really complicated. haha Maybe I should just read the spoilers.

Please tell me what you think about this show by leaving comments here.

Starring Melissa Ricks (as Elisa), Albert Martinez, Agot Isidro, Vina Morales, Mickey Ferriols, Eric Fructuoso, Aldred Gatchalian, Christopher Roxas, and many others.

Nickelodeon Shows in Tagalog

When it was still TV 5, I really appreciate the Nickelodeon programming that they air. This is really a network for kids during the day. At least, for those without cable connection like me, I have a choice what to let my baby watch on TV, not just the daytime game shows and the telenovela marathon from afternoon to almost midnight.

Then it became Shake TV 5. They took the extra mile of translating Nickelodeon shows in Tagalog. Wonderpets, Barney, Pat the Postman, etc. Plus all the animated shows. Oh please!

Really, we have these shows so that our children can learn better English. Why did they even think of translating these shows in Tagalog????

I am not putting down our language. But this is not the avenue to teach it, as these shows are for children to learn proper English. If we want to learn Tagalog, we can watch ABS-CBN or GMA from morning till night and we can learn Tagalog. But not English. That should have been the unique selling proposition of TV 5–airing Nickelodeon shows in English. With the translation, we are better off watching educational DVDs instead of your channel. Would you want that?

So please Shake TV 5, do your moral responsibility and revert the shows back into English. And mind you, you will get to save on the translators and dubbers.

P.S. It really looks awful to see blondes speaking in perfect Tagalog and yet sometimes their English is not that good. So Please lang….

Fan Nude Dancing in PBB

In the newest season of Pinoy Big Brother, one of the tasks of the housemates is to perfect Fan Nude Dancing. We watch PBB on primetime TV. What does the ABS-CBN management hope to achieve with this? Or the media has already released their social responsibility?

I am not really sure if this task will be pushed through or much more aired. I mean, it could just be something for the housemates to do, to test up to where they will bring themselves in order to survive in the house.

But really, is revealing their naked bodies a task that everyone should surpass and live? Is that a basic survival instinct? I don’t think so.

This is a call to ABS-CBN management. Where is your morals? What is the standard of morality that you follow in the shows that you air? Will you just continue to put “PARENTAL GUIDANCE” on screen and shrug your shoulders for the sake of ratings?

The MTRCB is threatening to get in the way if this task will really be performed. But I hope this should not just be about censorship. This is about the choices for the tasks that PBB is allowing their housemates to do.

You claim to be a station with a heart. Let us not cause other people to stumble, in this case, your televiewers and the housemates. Remember, some of them are married people.
