Poll: Festival of Lights

Well, this is not about a literal Festival of Lights. It is just that the Christmas season brings out the cheer in most people, including business establishments, and they usually put up Christmas lights on different colors and formations to light up their business spaces.

My hubby went around and clicked on most interesting displays, but we haven’t gotten to the more posh residential areas. For now, I will share some photos with you.

But we noticed that there are not too many stores now who put up Christmas lights, as compared to years past. Why do you think so? Please share your answer here and I will publish your choice, your name, and your link. Okay? So I hope you leave comments here.

A lot of businesses didn’t put up Christmas lights display this year because:

a. Prices of Christmas lights have gone up – 0 –

b. Even if they can afford the lights, electricity rates have gone up – 1 – Virtual Writer,

c. For austerity measures – 0 -

d. All of the Above – 7 – Meili_Lo, Pilgrim, Ms. Donna, Anne Fallarme, Ria Stevenson, Kringle, Lizzie,

  1. all of the above :o ) hihi…
thanks for posting the pics, love them!

  2. I’ll go for all of the above too with others meaning to avoid black outs..hehe! just kidding. but I don’t know really. But that would be good anyway until CENECO fixes our power shortage or be able to find other power sources

  3. VIRTUALWRITER

I go with the (b) answer not just in Filipina. In Indonesia the electricity price has gone up and the government suggest we should not waste to much energy. The electricity power plant cannot effort to buy spare parts, so the people should not waste the energy. So the power plant will not use it’s full capacity.

  4. all of the above :)

    and my boss are chinese
and they dont believe on christmas
    season :D

  5. A and B. And even if the price of christmas lights remained the same, the price of electricity has gone up. That, or maybe more people are being environmentally conscious and have chosen to conserve energy instead. :D great idea posting pics like this, it makes me feel like i’m in your city, i will do the same so people can see our city.. :D

  8. I think it is all of the above. With the financial problem the world is facing now, we have to find a way to tone down the celebration a bit. Lets safe, don’t waste, right?

Love the photos. I always love Christmas time because the lights will be up all night and I have a fondness to beautiful lights!
