Will Azkals Become Football Greats?

Will our own Philippine Team Azkals become football freats? There is so much hoopla about the Azkals and they have so many fans all over the country. They have ignited the fire among young people to have an interest in the sport.

But they are yet to win a major game. I guess they need more practice in the sport. Or I dunno. I am not really an expert. The very little I know of this ball game is the fantasy football trophies in a computer game.

I really do wish that more sportsmen will be raised up in this country. But not only that, I wish that the government will sustain them after their glory has faded. They spent their youth honing their skills in practice but they are not taught like skills like finding jobs and managing their money.

As for the Azkals, they have a long way to go. But as they inspire young people to follow them, I hope that the government will also look into this and support more athletes.

First Time to Watch a Bacolod Live Variety Show at SM City

Kyla

Kyla, R&B Princess of the Philippines, sang three songs at the GM Kapuso Show at SM City Bacolod.

Last week, my friend Millie and I were able to watch a live variety show at the SM City Bacolod Event Centre, courtesy of the VIP tickets provided by SM City Bacolod PRM, May Castro.

It was The Kapuso Panaad Festival Celebration and they had a full variety show produced there. There were dance numbers, games, and of course, special song numbers from their guest–R&B Princess, Kyla. There was also an autograph-signing and picture-taking with Kyla after the show.

VIP tickets

Two VIP Tickets from SM City Bacolod PRM May Castro.

It was the first time for Millie and I to attend such an event and we had fun. Well, it’s silly fun but we had good laughs, especially during the games. I just wonder why they did not ask us at the VIP section to join in the games? LOL I would have wanted to win one of their black and white bags! It looked nice. I asked someone from GMA if they had some for bloggers but they didn’t. Too bad. Maybe they just weren’t prepared for bloggers’ attendance at the event.

It was just too bad that during that day it was very hot that I got a headache. I felt like taking a bath in one of those fire hoses from the fire brigade!

UNO-R Dancers

Dancers from UNO-R gave a couple of performances.

Afterwards, Millie and I went shopping at SM Department Store, which is the reason why I got the jelly bag. Read: Free Jelly Bag from SM Department Store. These jelly bags are free for every P3,000 single receipt purchase from the department store. Offer is only up to April 22, 2012.

Thanks May and SM City Bacolod! Keep on holding these events and keep on inviting us!

parlor games

Contestants had fun playing in the parlor games. And there were a lot of prizes that I coveted! LOL

Coachella 2012

Coachella

Thousands of people have converged for the first weekend of the Coachella Arts and Music Festival on April 13 to 15, 2012. Also known as Coachella, the second weekend will be on April 20 to 22, 2012.

This year, it is the first time that organizers have decided to separate the event into two weekends instead of having it for three straight days only. And it seems a good decision.

Aside from the colorful bands that performed from different music genres, the audience was star-studded as well.

I can only imagine people trooping to this dessert part of Indio, California, braving the heat to as much as 110 degrees in order to just enjoy three days of live music. If you decide to go there next weekend, just make sure to dress appropriately and to bring protective stuff like sunscreen and maybe a light jacket for the breezy night. And drink lots of water to avoid dehydration. You would not want that from ruining your night at the Coachella.
