GI Joe the Movie

gi joe

I have not yet watched GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, but friends are inviting my husband and I for a group date on Sunday. I am not sure if I could go because I have no one to leave my little girl with. Ans she is only 4 months old and so naturally, I could not bring her to the theater. But I am excited to see the film version of the cartoon series that I so watched when I was younger. And from the trailer, the movie looks very exciting. Full of life is a pale description. The effects seem to be very realistic, too. I hope the movie will not disappoint, as most film remakes do. I do hope that I can find a sitter this weekend (I hope my mom-in-law will take the responsibility :-D ) so that I can sneak out for a few hours and see GI Joe on the big screen.

But according to tomatometer.com, they say “Consensus: While fans Hasbro toy franchise may revel in a bit of nostalgia, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is largely a cartoonish, over-the-top action fest propelled by silly writing, inconsistent visual effects, and merely passable performances.”

I dunno, I am still excited to go. Maybe I have to see for myself.
