There are just too many dengue patients nowadays. We just came back from my daughter’s pulmo doctor and when he recommended that I stop applying organic citronella mosquito repellent on my daughter as the strong scent may be triggering allergy attacks, I was disheartened.
I am thankful that the oil is organic so at least my daughter is not inhaling harmful chemical smells. However, it is also strong smelling and as such, may be one of the things causing her cough and colds.
I was disheartened because there are so many mosquitoes in the house and even though we let her wear pajamas, she gets bitten. And even if the oil. So how much more without? I don’t want to use OFF lotion either because the scent is so strong, it is sticky, so expensive, and is purely chemical. I hate the smell of OFF! That is why I am thankful that these organic citronella oils have become more common. What can I really do to protect my daughter from dengue?
Well, I can only pray. I cannot see or catch and kill each and every single mosquito, but they are all God’s creation. He knows when each one of them is born and killed. He knows which mosquito bites and which mosquito is infected. He knows the Aedes aegypti, the day breeding mosquito that transmits dengue. I can only commit this matter to God. And whatever happens, His name be praised.
