Honestly, I used to think that Google is such a great big company that it was able to make its business big and has bought out many online services. Its biggest competitors then, like Yahoo, have stepped aside because it seems there is no stopping them.

But when their former CEO Eric Schmidt admitted openly that they are losing out on Facebook, that came as a surprise. Google’s hold is mainly on the search engine base, but Facebook’s algorithm links both users and the net and in an instant, they can match the queries to the profiles of their users. This is much more powerful because there are no bots second guessing what the user wants. The users themselves have put this on their profile.

In short, should Facebook pursue the search engine genre, which is not unlikely considering that they have refused offers from Google, they have the capacity to win it over Google. Imagine that.

Okay our car aircon needs repair again. And it does not merely need cleaning and freon but we were told that two broken parts will have to be taken out and replaced.

This is the reason why the freon keeps escaping and we need to have it refilled regularly. But the two broken parts plus installation will set us back anywhere between P10,000 to P11,000! That is too much money to pay. We went to two car aircon specialists already and their quote is quite the same, even they will do it differently. Even if somebody else can do it cheaper, it will still cost us several thousands of pesos.

We understand that it is needed but right now we do not really have a budget for the car aircon repairs so that will have to wait. We will just have to endure the heat inside the car during the summer and the claustrophobia when it rains. We cannot afford it for now. But we hope that we can have it repaired soon.

A couple of weeks ago, the frame of my old glasses broke on a Friday. But since weekend came and all we did was just go out and have fun, that did not matter to me. Thankfully, despite all the medications, my baby is still very lovely with no birth defects. While I was pregnant, my friend’s wife was also pregnant with their son. But during her pregnancy, I learned that three times she had an epileptic seizure and was hospitalized, too. She was given medications that were supposed to calm her down. My friend shared that he is thankful too that his son did not have birth defects that could have possibly been brought about by epilepsy medications like Topamax. A lot of my classmates have pursued second courses, a Master’s degree, or law, because our course is Bachelor of Arts and is a precursor to a lot of other fields of study.

In my case, I don’t like such structured courses because I am fully aware that in order to pass them, you have to submit a dissertation. You know why I don’t like them?

It is not in the preparation of a thesis, the field study, the computations, and the formulation of the paper itself.
