Charice Pempengco’s New Look

Young Filipina singer Charice Pempengco has been excitedly preparing for her stint in the hit TV show “Glee.” Apparently, there is no stopping for Charice’s star from rising.

Honestly, I never did like Charice from the start because all her songs were the same–the Whitney Houston type songs with all the shouting. Yeah, she can hit the high notes but I get too tired with such singing. If I have heard you once singing that kind of song, I would admire you. But you do it over and over again and you will really hit a nerve in my ears. Additionally, she would have the same hand movements and it is really tiring to watch.

Anyway, recently, I am appreciating the fact that Charice’s singing has improved so much and she is exploring what her voice can do. And I really like it.

But many people are against Charice getting some anti-ageing treatments from Dra. Vicki Belo as part of her preparation for her role in Glee. I don’t think there is really anything wrong with it, as among the reasons cited was her painful jaw. Additionally, getting a Botox injection is not as bad as getting a noselift prior to adulthood right? I think Bea Alonzo had her nose done before she was 18 and nobody noticed it.

I just think that there are many people who are jealous of Charice’s success. But hey, that is the most that you can do to Charice now. She is internationally acclaimed. And well, mamatay na lang kayo sa inggit.

New Spa Amenity

Has anyone of you heard about those new far infrared saunas? I give creative services to three spas in Bacolod City and I have yet to see this infrared saunas where I am.

I like using the sauna because of its benefits. What I can really feel outright is that my muscles are relaxed by the heat. Even some of my sore muscles are already relieved after I use the sauna and get a cold shower afterwards. Sometimes I think that I can no longer appreciate the massage after I use the sauna because I already feel refreshed and revived because of the high temperature in the sauna bath and the very cold water in the shower. These processes in the wet area are very rejuvenating.

They also say that among other benefits of using the sauna bath are: good for hypertension or high blood pressure, good for weight loss as the heat melts fat, better circulation and metabolism, for better immunity, for better mental health, and even for the healing of some skin problems. But I highly doubt the last one because many skin problems are exacerbated by heat rather than alleviated.

So anyway, in most day spas where the sauna bath is included in the massage package, I use the sauna. But if it is charged separately and the massage is already quite expensive, then I don’t use the sauna. I just get a massage. I am on a tight budget you know but I also need to feel good. So I have to sacrifice some things.

Going Under the Knife

Going under the knife is not an easy thing. I remember when I was pregnant, I kept on psyching myself that I will deliver the normal way–my baby will go out the birth canal.

However, after more than 24 hours in the labor room, induced labor, epidural anesthesia, and endless internal exams, my doctor finally decided to have me under C-Section. I have not slept or ate and my doctor assessed that I no longer have the energy to push my baby out. I was already having chills and there was already a slight discrepancy in my baby’s heartbeat. So under the knife I went. Yet I was already open at 9cm.

My husband on the other hand has had an appendectomy when he was in high school. So have three of his siblings. It is not easy to undergo surgery, especially that your life is in the hands of your doctor at the moment while the surgery is going on. That is why it is necessary to only go to a doctor that you trust. You have to meet with them, such as, Dr. Alan Dulin, and you have to be comfortable with them before a procedure is done.

Additionally, post-operative procedures are as important. You should be able to trust your doctor that he or she will follow through the procedure with proper care. I am just glad with my OB. She is a very caring lady and although I paid for her services, she did not charge much and her post-op was great. That is why I keep referring her to my friends and family.
