Preparing for a Wedding

I got married almost three years ago. That reminds me, it will be our third wedding anniversary next month and still no plans. Hmmm…we will see what we can do with the little one already with us. We might do something as a couple, like have a special dinner and we can just leave our baby with our family.

Anyway, when we got married, everything seemed so expensive already. We have a small budget, or very little budget for that matter. We borrowed a lot of things and those that we could not, we bought at very cheap prices, such as our giveaways. We thought of not giving them out, but it is already sort of a tradition here in our country that during weddings, there are giveaways. Although it is not necessary, it is expected, so that’s why. We got some uniquely shaped bottles and filled them with potpourri and beads of the same color as our motif. And then we printed out our names. They look unique and they are very cheap. But of course, it took a lot of effort to do.

We also looked for cheap wedding programs. But in the end, we made our own and had the text risographed by our neighboring store. We just used a special paper so that it looks presentable.

We were really on a tight budget but we wanted to get married already and so we looked for ways and means in order to save where we can.

Business Risks

I do not consider myself a businesswoman because I am afraid to take risks. Well yeah I do engage in small enterprises from time to time, but those that I am sure can make me some money. But because of the calculated risks, I am not willing to take big risks that are supposed to bring in big revenues.

That is the downside of being too careful. But then again, I always think that whatever money I put in for business is my hard earned money. I don’t have inheritance or I cannot really ask my parents for more capital in case something happens. So that is why I am careful.

If I only knew how much money we are going to spend for the tarpaulin printer, I would not have agreed to buying it. I know I don’t have a voice in the decision making because only my husband’s vote is counted in their family business, I would really say a piece of my mind. That is because I just think that a lot of money is involved. But on the other side, I guess I should have more faith in God and in the capacities of my husband and myself, as we will be the ones running the business, or at least the operations part of it.

I know of someone who got into the business of selling gold jewelry. But the problem was, she does not know much about jewelry except to wear them. In the end, she lost millions worth of jewelry and other capital expenses because her partner, who was supposed to be good in the jewelry business, ran away from her.

I don’t want events like that because I don’t want to lose money like that. In the first place, I don’t have money like that. haha I mean, if I lose the capital, I would lose our life’s savings. Sigh…I guess I just need a good balance.

Is Piolo Pascual dead?

It was really bad news…or joke in bad taste.

It was earlier circulated that Piolo Pascual is already dead. Although I did not really get the details of the story, that is what I heard in the news. And if I were Piolo’s mother, I would really have an unexpected reaction.

But this is not true. Piolo is very much alive. And he is saddened by the news that people are spreading about him. In a television interview, he begged the people who are spreading these nasty news to stop it because it is not funny, especially for his family and his aging mother. They might get a heart attack over such nonsense.

And why would people spread such rumors? Tsk tsk…daming walang magawa.
