Building a Sandbox

It is summer time so I am thinking of activities that can enhance the learning and the motor skills of my one-year-old daughter. We don’t have much space where we currently live because we are in the middle of the city, living on the third floor of a commercial building. We do have a garden, but the space is sooo limited.

So I thought of building a sandbox for her. After all, many people have given her sand toys and it will be a waste if we will not use them. We have already gathered some used slabs of plywood and lumber from the garage. Now it is up to my assistant to construct it. We also have the nails, paint, and saw blades ready. Hopefully, he can finish it before the week ends so that when we come back, my baby has something new to play with already.

I have read somewhere that the child is ready for a sandbox if he or she is no longer putting things in their mouth. Although my daughter puts things in her mouth from time to time, she can also be instructed not to. Somehow, she just has to taste things and if she already had, she would not do it anymore. I hope that in a week or two, she will be ready to play with the sandbox while it is still summer.

Banner Stands

My uncle will be opening a new business soon. I cannot yet reveal the details as they are still finishing and finalizing everything.

In my part, I will be preparing their advertising and marketing collaterals for the soft opening and for the grand opening. I am thinking of putting up 2′ x 5′ or 2′ x 6′ tarpaulin banners. I cannot decide yet. Actually, the 2′ x 5′ banner is already enough because I will not really put a lot of information there. That would be the role of the fliers. However, we already have an existing banner stand that is 2′ x 6′. We can either use this one and just add other 2′ x 5′ stands or just keep this one make all the banners uniform in size at 2′ x 5′. We still cannot decide as of the moment.

I am excited for this business because it is quite a big one. And it is new in Bacolod. It will be soon.

In another light, I think I would need a relaxing massage. I am so tired and my muscles are sore. I hope that after my responsibility tomorrow, I can get some rest and relaxation. After the Holy Week, I think I will really have a lot of work to do so I am going to get some rest while I can.

Walks at the Capitol Lagoon

We just came home from a walk around the Capitol Lagoon.

Earlier tonight we just thought of going to take a walk. Then it came out that my parents in law also wanted to go. So my husband, my daughter and my in-laws went there.

We enjoyed the cool breeze tonight. Summer is here, hot but dry. And we love it! It is because I hate humidity so the dry summer is a welcome relief. Ahhh…I hope it is always like this. Nice and sunny. However, we cannot really wish for that because otherwise, our farmers and eventually all of us would go hungry.

Anyway, there were so many people at the lagoon tonight. There were many foreigners too, some just strolling while others are brisk walking. There were many kids playing on the playground. Families and lovers were scattered all over the place.

I am just thankful that we have a nearby park like the Capitol Lagoon. I think we will be frequent visitors this summer.
