Hollywood Celebrity Sex Scandals–What dya think?

The Internet has continually informed us of Hollywood celebrities and those from other places who had been in one way or the other involved in sex scandals. They range from young starlets, well-respected drama actors, models, action stars, bold stars, porn stars, athletes, etc.

There are those people who remain unaffected by these media exposures, or so it seems. But what about their families?

Let us just say, a couple, married or otherwise, engage in compromising acts on video. This leaks out to the media. What will your parents, or worse, your children say about it? Because I was thinking, maybe if the couple is married, like Gena Lee Nolin and Pamela Anderson, both of Baywatch, when their videos with their husbands were leaked to the internet, then those involved will have lesser shame than those who, let us say, are just lovers, or worse, those who make out with other married people. I thought the latter are more scandalous. Well, Disney’s High School Musical Star Vanessa Hudgens didn’t have a sex tape, just some nude photos. But she underwent the same humiliation

But now, I am thinking, the level is just the same. If the couple is married, they have parents, too. And friends. And worse, they could have children and you can just imagine the humiliation that their kids will be getting in school.

Some people have sued the media companies that have released these movies. I think Pamela Anderson did that. And so did Paris Hilton. And a host of other stars. But will that really correct the damage? Yeah, I guess they can squeeze some bucks, but the shame still remains. Or they are callous enough in order to be able to live with it?

I think there are several reasons why these celebrities opt to put their intimate moments on record. Choose whichever you agree with.

Moymoy Palaboy’s Videos on YoutTube

Perhaps the latest people who were popularized by You Tube, Filipino brothers Moymoy Palaboy has certainly endeared themselves to Filipino viewers. These are two brothers with big eyes who like to take home videos of themselves while lip-synching to popular songs. It is their version of MTV.

I have so much fun with their Marimar video, that is why I am posting the link here for your enjoyment. And probably perhaps, this is the first video of them that I have ever seen. This video alone has almost 4 million viewers to date. This was taken at their home, with their aunt doing her mundane chores in the background while the two kolokoys mouth the Spanish words, complete with full range of emotions, to the famous Mexican telenovela that Thalia starred and was recently re-made by GMA, starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

Anyway, they have made videos of so many songs already–Volare, No One, Low, Dancing Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody (I like this one, too), etc. So far, they have uploaded 39 videos already. I like the freshness of their “kakengkoyan” and perhaps the entire country thinks so, too.

They are already a staple at “Bubble Gang”–Pinoy TV’s longest running gag show on GMA, where they are featured in “You Tube” setup as well.

Because of their popularity now, they can afford more sophisticated productions of their MTVs. They go on several locations already for a single video, have video editing, and high resolution videos already. They also have back up dancers and singers, too.

But I kind of like the rustic ambiance that their old videos had. Their old videos only featured the two of them, uncut, so their emotional level from start to finish could be summarized in one word–impeccable. And the homemade feel of their videos gave it much appeal. Anyway, I guess that is the prize of success.

I salute them for finding ways to market their abilities, and they have found their niche. I enjoy them so much, but I hope that my baby doesn’t look like them when he/she is going to be born in March. Or else my Chinese in-laws would really wonder whose child I am having! lol

Enjoy Moymoy Palaboy’s Marimar video:

Namets!: Ilonggo Digital Film

Hubby and I finally managed to watch Namets! on Tuesday night. We were so curious and excited and we were happy we did.

We thoroughly enjoyed the movie! Well, after all, this was done by professionals. I loved the script, very witty and fast paced, kudos to my former film and photography professor and Palanca Awardee, Vince Groyon. And the movie was successful making us hungry. We had a whole large pizza afterwards, and hubby and I finished the entire plate! Anyway, hubby envied Direk Peque Gallaga’s role–he had no speaking lines and was just practically eating in the whole movie! Oh, the only intelligible thing I heard him say was “Namets!” when he threw that fruit in the pool when Angel Jacob’s character resigned from his employ.

Angel Jacob tried very much to deliver her lines in Ilonggo, and I salute her for that. I just thought that in some scenes, they could have re-shot those where she delivered the lines rather “pitla.” But her acting was pretty good, considering that her experience leans more on the hosting side. And my goodness! She is sooooo thin! And she was eating so much in the movie! Anyway, in relation to this, I wonder if we didn’t have an Ilongga celebrity and why the producers had to have someone from Manila. Angel’s intonation and pronunciation was so far from what we have, despite her efforts. But kudos for trying Angel.

The scene I really enjoyed was where veteran character actor Ronnie Lazaro played a farmer whose family was experiencing poverty and hunger in their farm. He wanted to eat meat, but his son loved their animals so much that even the chicken was named “Leonard.” In the end, the famiy had to eat noodles, like in the Lucky Me commercial. Anyway, I loved how that boy acted out his part! I didn’t know who he was, but just the same congratulations!

The movie is funny and witty and show a lot of things about Bacolod and Negros. I think Vince Groyon should consider taking a post in the Bacolod Tourism Office. I think that this movie did a lot more to show off this city than our government’s programs. Seriously, we should have programs that will show not just MassKara, because it is only an annual festival, but we need to interest people of the adventures that await them here, even if it is merely gastronomic. For this will sustain our tourism industry the whole year through.

And lastly, eventhough I never did like radio dramas in Ilonggo because the Ilonggo language being spoken on air sounds awkward, but the movie wasn’t. I hope it could be dubbed in Tagalog for the appreciation of people all over the country.

P.S. So good of Joel Torre to lend in a hand — as the caveman! Who would have thought….:-D
